Oleamide use and manufacturing method

Oleamide uses

Oleamide is superior in performance and versatile. It can be used as a release agent for polyolefin injection molding, which makes mold release easy, thereby increasing the yield and improving the surface gloss of the product. Used as a lubricant for polyolefin, polyvinyl chloride, polystyrene, phenolic resin, amino resin, polyester, acetate, nitrocellulose, etc., antistatic agent, anti-caking additive.

It is used as a dye dispersant, lubricant, mold release agent, etc. for color concentrates and cable materials such as polyolefins and synthetic fibers. It must be added in the form of a mixture or masterbatch at the processing plant to ensure a uniform quality. Adding 0.1~0.5% Oleamide to low-density polyethylene film material can improve antistatic and lubricating properties, improve moisture resistance, significantly reduce friction and adhesion resistance, and effectively prevent agglomeration between pellets. The adhesion between the films significantly improves the blown film efficiency, so that the finished film has a good surface finish and prevents dust from accumulating on its surface.

Used as a modifier for plastic inks, adding 2~5% Oleamide to polyamide ink can improve the printing performance and lubricity of the ink, and increase the scratch resistance, anti-offset and abrasion resistance of the print. . Improves the spread and adhesion of the ink on the surface of the print, making the print clear, firm and bright. It can also be used as wax products for coatings, carbon papers, type papers, compounding agents for fiber oils, protective films for metal and surface lubricants, stabilizers for melamine products, dispersion stabilizers for aluminized electrophoretic coatings, and petroleum drilling auxiliaries. Production method

Industrially, oleic acid and anhydrous ammonia are used for acylation reaction in the presence of a catalyst. The commonly used catalysts are boric acid, activated alumina, silica gel, etc. The reaction firstly produces ammonium oleate, which is dehydrated at elevated temperature to form Oleamide. The reaction formula is as follows:

C17H33COOH + NH3→ C17H33COONH4

C17H33COONH4→ C17H33CONH2 + H2O

The reaction temperature is 170-200 ° C, the pressure is 0.3-0.7 mPa, the reaction time is 10-12 hours, the rate of ammonia addition is controlled, the reaction pressure is maintained, and the water formed by the reaction and the unreacted ammonia are continuously discharged, so that the dehydration reaction of the ammonium salt is complete. The oleic acid amide product formed after the reaction is dissolved in ethanol under stirring, decolorized by adding a small amount of activated carbon and an antioxidant, and the activated carbon is filtered off, and purified by freeze crystallization and recrystallization. Large-scale production is suitable for continuous production, and small-scale production can also be produced intermittently.

The use of oleic acid extracted from vegetable oils as a raw material has a lower odor than oleic acid produced from oleic acid extracted from animal fats, and has better anti-yellowing and anti-caking ability.
